# Best Cat Harnesses for Apartment Cats Source: https://apartmentpetpicks.com/best/best-cat-harnesses Updated: 2026-10-20 Publisher: Apartment Pet Picks. Our score is an editorial rating out of 10 (fit 35%, features 25%, build 20%, value 20%), not a customer rating. Method: https://apartmentpetpicks.com/how-we-research#our-score A cat harness lets an indoor cat safely explore a balcony, hallway, or nearby patch of grass without the risk of bolting loose. For apartment owners, it is the simplest way to add enrichment when a private yard is not an option, and it turns a restless indoor cat into a curious, tired-out one. The best harnesses use an escape-proof H-style or vest design that spreads pressure across the chest instead of the neck. When choosing one, look for adjustable straps at both the neck and girth, breathable padded fabric for warmer flats, and a secure D-ring set back over the shoulders. Prioritize a snug, two-finger fit so a wriggly cat cannot back out mid-walk. ## Picks ### 1.
