# Best Covered Cat Beds for Apartment Cats Source: https://apartmentpetpicks.com/best/best-covered-cat-beds Updated: 2026-09-15 Publisher: Apartment Pet Picks. Our score is an editorial rating out of 10 (fit 35%, features 25%, build 20%, value 20%), not a customer rating. Method: https://apartmentpetpicks.com/how-we-research#our-score A covered cat bed is an enclosed cave or hooded nest that gives your cat a dark, private place to curl up and feel safe. In a small apartment where a cat cannot escape household noise, foot traffic, or guests, that sense of a den lowers stress and gives an overstimulated cat somewhere to retreat. The enclosed shape also traps body heat, which suits cats that seek out warm corners. The best covered beds hold their shape without collapsing, use a soft removable insert you can machine wash, and take up little floor space in a tight room. When choosing one, size it so your cat can turn around comfortably, and place it in a quiet, elevated corner away from the litter box. ## Picks ### 1.
