Litter tracking shows up fast when your whole home is a few hundred square feet. Grit spreads from the box to the kitchen in a couple of trips, and there is nowhere for it to hide. A good litter mat catches most of that before it reaches the rest of your floor. We focused on mats that fit tight box corners, feel gentle on cat paws, and shake out or rinse clean without a wrestling match.

Fit for the job 9/10 · Features and specs 8/10 · Build and materials 7/10 · Value 9/10
- + Large honeycomb holes capture litter stuck to paws as your cat steps out, and the trapped litter can be tipped back into the box.

- + At 24 x 15 inches and a soft, flexible material, it fits small litter boxes and tight apartment spaces.
- - At 24 x 15 inches it covers a modest area, so a large or high-sided box may need a bigger mat.

- + 35x23 size covers a wide area in front of the litter box
- + Mesh texture pulls litter from paws more effectively than flat mats
- - Coil mesh holds litter that needs vacuuming or shaking outside
